Despite having the threat of rain Sunday at Mountain Speedway, the show went on as scheduled and the action was pretty intense. Travis Fisher of Fern Glen held off Dave Brigati and Jason Hearn to record his first career Sport Modified feature win and Brigati of Calverton, NY bested Mitch Hawk for his second Late Model victory of the season. Nick Harnage of Calverton, NY picked up the INEX Bandolero victory. Full Story

Late Model Drivers Invited to Mountain Speedway; Plus Other Announcements
Following the show at Mountain Speedway on Sunday, speedway Promoter, Joe Callavini, announced that any Mahoning Valley Speedway (MVS) Late Model driver may compete at the track using his or her home track tire. The tires must be scuffs and not stickers. Also, Mountain will honor the MVS pit license for Late Model drivers.
Although it was announced prior to the start of the season, there is no parking fee at the speedway unless a driver wants the same spot for the entire year.
Also announced was that the feature winner in each division will receive a trophy for his or her efforts.
A mistake was found in the speedway schedule and the Street Stock Powder Puff event that was listed for Saturday, June 22 will be moved to another date. Reason being, the Street stock division was not on the schedule for that night. The rescheduled date will be announced in the near future.

Brian DeFebo Batting 0.750 at Mountain Speedway
With his third straight win in the first four Modified races so far this season at Mountain Speedway, Brian DeFebo of Berwick has a 0.750 batting average to start of what could possibly be another championship season. Also with three wins this season, Chip Wanamaker of Walnutport held off stout competition to take top honors in the Street Stock division and Scott Adams of Lake Ariel continued in his dominating ways and remains undefeated this season after notching his fourth straight Four Cylinder victory of the year. Brendon Bock of Long Island, NY took his third INEX Legends win of the season and Matt Odona went to victory lane in the INEX Bandolero feature. The 4C Super Modifieds hit the track for their first event of the season and Mike Renn held off Wes Gilbert for the victory. Full Story

Open Competition Show and INEX Legends National Qualifier Slated in June at Mountain
The track management at Mountain Speedway in St. Johns, PA has recently announced that a $1,00 to win, full-fendered open competition show along with a national INEX Legends qualifier will be held in conjunction with the originally scheduled Mountain Madness Enduro Series events on Sunday, June 2.
The open competition show is the first in years that the speedway has held and as the old say, “anything goes” for the 50-lap contest. All eight-cylinder cars with ANY modifications are welcome, from enduro cars to Late Models. Basically, as long as the cars have fenders, they will be allowed to compete. The “no rules”, aside from safety applies to tires as well, meaning that there isn’t even a tire rule for the event. The show will pay $1,000 to the winner and the second place prize is $300, followed by $200, $100 and $100 for third through fifth. The race entrance fee will be announced on the track website and Facebook page. Full Story
Mountain Speedway’s Mike Moyer, Jr. Memorial Paying out $1,500 to Winner
Since its first year running in 2011, the Mike Moyer, Jr. Factory Stock Memorial event at Mountain Speedway has been an event full of heavy hearts and fantastic competition. This year is destined to be the best yet, as the winner of the 100-lap show on June 22nd will receive an unheard of $1,500.
Moyer, a second-generation racer, was the 2009 Factory Stock champion at Mountain Speedway. He lost his life on March 9, 2009, just prior to his 30th birthday. Each season since, Moyer’s friends and family have looked forward to his memorial race and they are especially looking forward to what should be the biggest Factory Stock race of the season.
The field for the 100-lap race will be set via time trials and the top five quickest time trailers will redraw for starting positions. Drivers must start the feature on the tires that they time trialed with and all cars must meet Mountain Speedway Factory Stock rules. There will be a fuel only break at lap 50. Full Story
