“Nitro” Nick Pecko Finally Scores First Career
Sport Modified Victory at Mountain
For over three seasons now, “Nitro” Nick Pecko of Vandling, PA has
been trying to victory lane in the Sport Modified division at
Mountain Speedway. Bad luck and gremlins denied him of that feat in
the past, but the curse has been lifted, as Pecko finally
accomplished the feat Sunday at Mountain Speedway. In his first
start of the season, Travis Fisher of Fern Glen, PA took the Late
Model victory and Paul Morgan, Jr. came from the last starting spot
to claim his first win of the season in Factory Stock competition.
Matt Pappa took the INEX Legends victory and Alex McCollum notched
his third straight Bandolero win.

VINTAGE RACE CARS TAKE TO THE TRACK ON MAY 19

AND ATQMRA JOIN FORCES AT MOUNTAIN SPEEDWAY

vintage race cars of the Atlantic Coast Old Timers and the
American TQ Midget Racing Association Vintage Division will conduct
exhibition races at
Mountain Speedway in St. Johns, Pennsylvania, on Saturday afternoon,
May 19, in an event
organized by long-time racing enthusiast Robert Noll.

Bobby Jones Bests
Healthy Modified Field at Mountain Speedway
Following a feature win elsewhere the night prior, Bobby Jones of
Palmerton, PA started thirteenth in Sunday’s Modified feature at
Mountain Speedway. Jones wasted no time and worked into the lead on
lap eight and was barely contested for the feature victory. Chip
Wanamaker of Walnutport, PA made a last lap pass on Kevin Higgins
stick and came away with the Street Stock main event and Cody Roth
of Kunkletown, PA was untouchable and took top honors in the Four
Cylinder division. Robin Johnston of Wayne, PA was victorious in the
TQ feature and Todd McCollum notched his first victory of the season
at the speedway and second of the weekend overall. Alex McCollum
scored his second-straight Bandolero victory in the ten lap main.

StockCar Racing Experience at Pocono
International Raceway Teams
up with Mountain Speedway
The folks of
Mountain Speedway are proud to announce their association with the
StockCar Racing Experience (SRE) at Pocono International raceway
this season.
From April through October, one lucky 50/50 winner per month at the
speedway will receive a three-lap Superspeedway ride in a real
stockcar at the newly repaved 2.5 tri oval.
To add even more excitement to the mix, the 2012 Modified track
champion will be awarded a 20-mile drive at Pocono.
The first drawing of the season at Mountain Speedway will take place
on Sunday, April 29 with the running of the annual Mike Moyer, Jr.
Memorial.

the safest, most exciting and customer friendly stock car racing
