Zero tolerance policy a main priority for Mountain Speedway in ‘08
March 10, 2008

Track management at Mountain Speedway has recently announced that strict penalties for intentionally slowing the course of the racing program, will be strongly enforced. One such incident, involving the 2007 Late Model champion, Larry Fisher, took place during the NELMA late model event last October, when Fisher intentionally drove in the wrong direction on the speedway and rammed another competitor head-on. For these actions, a six week uspension was levied upon Fisher, to begin the ‘08 season.

“It took time for the decision, but something had to be done about it”, said speedway promoter Joe Callavini. He continued by saying, “We need to control these types of senseless acts that slow the program, instead of having situations like this take control of the speedway."

“Safety is always a concern at the speedway, and obvious altercations are deserving of penalties.”, said Callavini. “That goes for drivers, crew members, and any fans that might get out of hand in the grandstands.”

All Mountain Speedway General, Procedural, and Divisional rules are readily available on the Speedway website or by contacting the Speedway office.  Callavini closed by stating, "All people need to be liable for their own actions."
