Sundance Vacations Speedway Schedule Focuses on Economy Since the latter part of last season, many folks, some of which are involved with racing in some shape or form, became determined to save money. The economy continues to struggle in most markets and families are pinching pennies, especially when it comes to entertainment and hobbies. Many have resorted to entertainment options closer to home, and with that in mind, the staff at Sundance Vacations Speedway took a close look at stats from last season and decided to make a few changes. One such change will see adult general admission reduced to just $10 for a regular race program, with children 10 and under admitted free of charge. The tentative 2009 racing schedule is now released and unlike seasons of the past, it offers several off weekends for race teams who will be competing at the popular 1/3-mile asphalt racing facility. However, race fans of Sundance Vacations Speedway will still have the opportunity to see exciting wheel-to-wheel racing entertainment each and every weekend from April through October. Divisions will now alternate weeks, beginning with pole day weekend, which will take place on April 18 and 19. A very special addition to the time trial runs on pole day weekend is the running of the action packed Mountain Madness Enduro Series twin 125 lap events, and is backed once again by ABC Auto Parts and Car Crushing of Hunlock Creek, PA. Opening day weekend is slated for April 25 and 26, and from there the rest of the official season will sprint into motion. Several big shows are planned throughout the year, including three extra distance events known as the “Pennsylvania Asphalt Modified Triple Crown”, for the 600 horsepower open wheel Modifieds. Extra distance events for all divisions will take place as part of "Summer Racefest", with double-points events for many of the classes. Fan appreciation days will also be a part of Summer Racefest, which takes place during July and August. The regular divisions will be the Tour Type modifieds, sport modifieds, late models, street stocks, factory stocks, four cyl. FWDs and the INEX legends. The mini cups and TQ midgets will also cover many dates on the card and several appearances by various vintage racing clubs will showcase the rich history of short track racing throughout the season. The classic 4th of July fireworks display is scheduled for Independence Day, and the North East Late Model Association will once again return to the speedway in October for the 5th annual NELMA 100. The 10th annual "King Of The Mountain" championship weekend rounds out the points season in a huge way on October 10-11, with race teams from all over the Northeast scheduled to participate in the event. Presented by Classic Custom Trucks of Califon, NJ, the Little Racer’s Club will be back in full swing for the youngsters and a variety of fan nights are in the works, including the 2nd annual Evergreen Raceway Reunion, autograph and camera nights and much more. With a schedule that's both fan and race team friendly, Sundance Vacations Speedway continues to provide a level of entertainment that is guaranteed to give you the most for your precious dollars, with race fans being able to enjoy a fine evening of local auto racing this season. In 2009, it's time to..."Get back to a short track!” |
