Thunderstorm Stalls the Action at Sundance Vacations Speedway By: Gene Ostrowski July 25, 2009 Under clear skies the heat and consolation events races went off without a hitch Saturday at Sundance Vacations Speedway. However, that changed at intermission when a thunderstorm blew through the area. Due to track conditions, track officials were forced to cancel the remaining events and the feature races have been rescheduled. Prior to the cancellation, Brad Barbush, Steve Clark and Steve Hoffman took heat race wins in Street Stock competition and Chip Wanamaker won the consi event. Scott Adams, Ricky Ross, Jr. and Frank Reakes grabbed heat wins in the Sport Modifieds and Robert Fink and Eric Banashefski notched heat race wins in the 4 Cyl. FWD division. The double points 50-lap Street Stock make up feature make up date is Saturday, August 8. The FWD and INEX Legends divisions are also on the card. Regularly scheduled events for the Sport Modifieds, Street Stock, FWD and INEX Legends will follow the make up features and a special starting time of 5 PM will be in effect. Autograph and camera night for the Street Stocks and INEX Legends has been rescheduled for the same night. The make up Sport Modified event is scheduled for Saturday, August 22. Sundance Vacations Speedway is just minutes from Hazleton, Pa, located on St. John’s Road, between Routes 93 and 309. Grandstand admission for all regular events is just $10 for ages 11 and older. Children 10 years of age and younger are admitted for free. |
