Update on ‘Drive for Five’ at
Sundance Vacations Speedway
By: Gene Ostrowski
June 4, 2010
It was
recently announced and printed that the remaining ‘Drive for
Five’ events at Sundance Vacations this season have been
cancelled. However, speedway Promoter Joe Callavini announced
that isn’t the case and only the event that was scheduled for
Saturday June 19 has been replaced with a regular Modified show.
“There was miscommunication between our people at the track and
many drivers are concerned that the rest of the big $5,000 to
win shows have been axed”, said Callavini. “We are trying to
secure additional sponsorship and we’ll play it by ear. As of
now only the June 19th ‘Drive for Five’ show will be
replaced with a regular 40-lap feature”.
The next ‘Driver for Five’ event on the schedule is slated for
Saturday, July 31st.
