Mountain Speedway is a 1/3 mile asphalt oval located in the beautiful mountains of northeast Pennsylvania. The speedway hosts exciting stock car racing every weekend from April to October, making it one of NEPA's premier entertainment attractions.

2009 Mountain Madness Enduro Series Rules:

ENDURO RULES:
1. Any American or foreign passenger car (no 2-seaters, convertibles, or all wheel drive)
 
2. No turbos or super chargers.
 
3. All components to remain STOCK for year, make and model of frame. VIN # should remain on car.
 
4. All plastic, trim, lights, and flammable items must be removed (rear deck brake light allowed).
 
5. All glass to be removed. (NO glass in doors or channels)
A. Stock windshield allowed.
B. Screen or Lexan may be used with three 1 X 1/8" support straps in center with 4" minimum spacing.
 
6. 4 point minimum racing seat belts MANDATORY.
 
7. Approved helmet, fire suit, neck brace (collar), and gloves are mandatory.
 
8.. Drop down window net mandatory.
 
9. Doors must be welded, chained or bolted closed.
 
10. Bumpers must be chained or cabled to prevent loss. NO reinforcement of front or rear bumper allowed.
 
11. Three point roll bar or brace behind seat from side to side with door bar mandatory. 4 point recommended.
 
12. Trunks must be empty and clear of debris. No added weight anywhere.
 
13. FUEL TANKS
A. Stock tanks may remain in stock location if forward of rear axle, or location approved by tech.
B. Rear fill GM type tanks must be moved to trunk.
C. Fuel cells, marine, or stock type tank allowed in trunk if mounted as far forward as possible.
Mounting subject to tech. 2 straps from front to rear and from side to side.
Rear hoop to protect cell allowed..
Firewall required if tank in trunk.
 
14. D.O.T. passenger tire cars only.
A. 60 series or higher mandatory. (60, 65, 70, etc.)
6/8 cyl. 225-60 max tire size. 235-70 allowed
4 cyl. 195-60 max tire size.
B. Rim width
6/8 cyl.= 7 inch.
4 cyl.= 6 inch.
C. Stock offsets. Backspace must be the same all the way around at the start of the race.
D. No lightweight racing wheels.
E. 200 minimum tread wear (all four tires)
 
15. Suspension must be stock components and be in stock location.
A. Springs must mirror each other inside and outside (wire diameter and number of coils).
B. Minimum ride height.
6/8 cyl= 6 inches
4 cyl= 5 inches
C. Maximum camber limit 1/2" on right front (top of rim to bottom).
D. No pre-loaded sway bars.
 
16. Aftermarket Air Filter Element Allowed. Stock Replacment Type,fuel Injected Cars Must Use Stock Air Box. No Cold Air Induction Systems. Carb Cars Stock Size And Configuration, No Monster Air Cleaners.

17. Outside driver door bar allowed. No higher than top of tire, and no lower than center of hub (one each 1 1/2" pipe, or 1X3" flat steel max size, ends turned in, NO tire cutters). Passenger side door bars allowed. No other outside bars, front or rear.
 
18. Tool-less entry to engine compartment required with inside hood release disabled, or hole in hood needed. Maximum of two holes allowed, no more than 5 inches X 4 inches each.
 
19. Front driveshaft hoop required and shaft must be painted in a bright color to allow visibility if lost on racetrack.
 
20. ALL Mountain Speedway Enduros utilize Transponder scoring. Transponder brackets MUST BE USED. Check with the speedway office or Tech for proper mounting location. 21. No racing parts.
 
22. No passengers.
 
23. Muffler and radiator overflow tank required.
 
24. Engine must maintain 17 inches of vacuum at 1000 RPM.
DUE TO THE WIDE RANGE OF TYPES OF CARS, TECH RESERVES THE RIGHT TO ALLOW/DISALLOW ANY AND ALL PARTS OR MODIFICATIONS TO EVEN UP THE FIELD. OVER-COMPETITIVE CARS MAY BE RESTRICTED AS NEEDED.
