Speedway’s Handicapping Rules
Mountain Speedway
follows a three week rolling handicapping procedure.
Handicapping points are based on the previous three weeks of
racing and win points that are assigned to a driver for each win
they accumulate for the entire year. Your total handicapping
points for the past three weeks and win points that you have
accumulated for the entire year will determine the starting
line-up for both heat and feature for the current event.
When a driver arrives at the
racetrack, he/she or their crew is responsible for reporting to
the speedway office to register their car. Any driver that does
not register their car 15 minutes before the drivers meeting
will be added to rear of the heat race. No exceptions.
Handicapping points are based
on the speedway’s championship points broken down as follows:

Win Points
Win Points are 25 points
for each win and are carried throughout the racing season.
|
All accumulated points are then
added together for that weeks handicapping and championship points.
A driver who does not show up for a particular event will be
handicapped the maximum amount of handicapping points (110 points)
and zero championship points for that event. Handicapping points
will not be double points on a double points night. Double points
are only for championship points.
All handicapping sheets will be
posted on the website at the beginning of the week and will also be
posted at the track. If you have any questions regarding your
starting position please feel free to address them at the pit
office.
Please note- The
winner of the previous feature race to start in the back of the
feature of the cars that qualify if they qualify. So if 15 cars
qualify for the feature event and the winner of last week qualifies,
then they start in the back of the qualifying cars so they will
start 15th.
