Mountain Madness from June 17th
Wow, another week of great side-by-side racing on a hot Spring night. Yep, it's still spring, but during the summer we'll kick into full speed. Hey, along with all the great action Saturday, thanks to all who came out for Shaunfest Sunday. Talk about some heat! For those who missed it, the show was great and everyone had a good time. It was good to see Burd out of his nest!
Congrats to Zane Zeiner on his 30-lap wire-to-wire mod win. There were also some strong runs, including Defebo's 5th place finish in his latest ride. Man, that thing is really sweet looking! Another good run by Eddie B, but the guy on the fast track this week finished in the runner-up spot. Chaz Serman had a great run and also had his best feature finish in a modified! Congrats and welcome to Mountain Madness.
It was nice to see a big turn out for the Ed Makarewicz "Duct Tape 50-lap" Memorial race. Even after destroying the monkey piñata, luck wasn't on the side of Mac Brothers Racing though. Nice job by Dynamite Danny Cascioli on the win, along with the entire thriller field. Only three quick cautions out of 50 laps! Ricky Ross's season might have turned around for the better; his second place effort puts him on the fast track here at Mountain.
Congratulations to Paul Frantz for picking up his second street stock win of the season! With only a handful of yellows, Frantz drove off and let everyone else fight for second. Fight they did indeed. Nice runs by Stormin' Norman Barnes, Brad Kline and Ron Babula. Who's on the fast track this week? Hey, that'll be Barry Callavini. Callavini finished third, which shows that the tweaking that he's been doing week in and out on the car is finally paying dividends. Welcome aboard Barry!
"High Groove" Harry Sager grabbed his fourth four cyl. thriller feature win of the season and already has a commanding lead in the standings. Good job on the win after starting 8th! Another great run for Joe Sherman and it's good to see Travis Fisher in the top five with his third place effort. So, who's on the fast track this week? Well, that would be 13-year old Coltin Judge. This kid from Mountaintop has really shown patience over the last few races. Finally, Judge achieved his first top five with his fourth place finish. Congratulations!
Congrats to all the feature & Mountain Madness winners. Also, thanks to this season's sponsor, Valley Service Equipment Repair from New Jersey. All their support is greatly appreciated! Hey, if you see Chris and the Gang from Valley in the stands or pits…stop by & say hello to them. Tune in next week to see who is 'On the Fast Track' to success in Mountain Madness at Mountain Speedway.
