Mountain Madness from June 24th
Another hot night of racing at Mountain Speedway is in the books! We're all ready headed toward mid season, which really makes ya wonder where the heck all the time goes…so, on that note, off to the races………
A big congratulations to Kory Rabenold on his first Mountain mod victory! The racing from second on back through the pack was furious, and in the end, Eddie Brunnhoelzl finished second. I mean at the very end too! Congrats on the finish Eddie. The driver on the fast track this week is proving that consistency and success is what wins championships. Welcome aboard Eddie B!
Well, the late model feature this week was still low on cars counts, but was also caution-free! Despite the number of cars, the racing up front was great between Mike Coll, Joe Barbush and Joe Hoffman. Congrats to Coll on his third of the season, and also congratulations to all the drivers on a fine show. The driver on the fast track this week might not have won, but has started to turn his season around after many weeks of misfortune. "Oh no" Beau Drobot…welcome to the fast track!
There was another exciting thriller race at Mountain Saturday. Ricky Ross grabbed the win while everyone else swapped paint for the other spots. Nice run by Kevin Makarewicz after finishing up a motor change from last weeks memorial race. The driver on the fast track this week finished sixth, but based on how strong he has run in recent weeks, the stats just don't show it. Coming off many weeks of being spun out of contention way too late in many recent races and coming back in this one to finish sixth, welcome to Mountain Madness Pat Verwys!
Another first time winner in the four cylinder thrillers! This time it was Duane Garrison. Congrats on win #1 of the season. Joe Sherman had another strong run, as did Bob Wink in that #57. Luke Colleran grabbed a top five finish as well, but Kevin Price's fourth place finish puts him on the fast track to success at Mountain Speedway. After a few weeks of disappointment and tough finishes, the top five finish gets him on the fast track. Congratulations!
Coming up in the next couple of weeks we'll have super pro trucks and fireworks next week, then 50-laps of Balliet's Country Corners modified action the following week (July 8th)! It should be a great show and I'm looking forward to it…should be awesome!
Congrats to all the feature & Mountain Madness winners. Also, thanks to this season's sponsor, Valley Service Equipment Repair from New Jersey. All their support is greatly appreciated! Hey, if you see Chris and the Gang from Valley in the stands or pits…stop by & say hello to them. Tune in next week to see who is 'On the Fast Track' to success in Mountain Madness at Mountain Speedway.
