Mountain Madness from August 12th

Hey there & welcome back to Mountain Madness. Speaking of which, as the temps cooled off Saturday, things began to heat up on the track…over & over! Thanks to all of the fans who stuck out a long night. For those who took off before the four cylinder thrillers, you missed the best show of the night, which included only one caution!

Congrats go out to Tim Santee for his second win of the season in the 20-lap (yes, 20) Balliet's Country Corners modified feature. In victory lane, Santee announced his retirement from driving at the conclusion of the season. Say it isn't so! If it's true, hope you're still at the track! "The Fish", Lenny Fischer had a great run & that was also good to see. Hey, how about the driver in the third spot? The Mountain Madness award for the week has to go out to Eddie Brunnhoelzl and crew, there's no doubt! After being involved in two separate incidents, the crew did one heck of a job getting that machine back out in time. Actually, with the damage suffered from both crashes, it's simply amazing! Throw the trophy on a shelf in the garage, because it's for all of you…congrats!

Another congrats to Joe Hoffman and crew on their third late model win of the year. During yet another interesting race, the red flag flew and we all know why. On behalf of the staff at the speedway, our condolences go out to Beau Drobot for the loss of his father, Nimey.

The driver on the fast track this week is the #99 of Rick Smith. Being in the service, Smith only runs when time allows. Before a late race spin, Smith was in the fourth spot and rebounded to finish an impressive seventh! Congratulations and welcome to the fast track at Mountain Speedway.

Good to see Stormin' Norman Barnes take the checkers after the problems that he and his family had suffered over the recent weeks. Congratulations! Also, nice job by Frantz and Meckes, as they continue in the championship hunt. This week John Stonier picked up his first heat win of the season, and even after being involved in a lap nine incident, he still managed to finish sixth in the big show. For the heat race win, along with the top ten feature finish, welcome o Mountain Madness!

What a job the four cylinder thriller drivers did Saturday…especially after last week! Only one caution, plus an extremely tight three way battle for the lead the entire race. From a fans perspective, who could ask for more? Congrats to "High Groove" Harry on yet another win and also to Bob Wink and Travis Fisher. Those three distanced themselves from the others and put on a great show. Now, who's on the fast track? Well, that would be the #7x of George Antolick. Antolick has only run a few shows, but seemed to be headed in the right direction Saturday. The end result was a sixth place run, which adds him to the list of Mountain Madness driver's…congratulations!

Don't forget, the Big Dog 100 modified race is coming on August 27th. Also on the card are the super pro trucks, so if you got one, bring it along! Also remember that the point's race in every division is very close at this point and can become closer yet over the weeks ahead! Congrats to all the feature & Mountain Madness winners. Also, thanks to this season's sponsor, Valley Service Equipment Repair from New Jersey. Good luck to all and tune in next week to see who is 'On the Fast Track' to success in 'Mountain Madness' at Mountain Speedway.
